![]() ![]() Factorio and Minecraft are different games entirely. Item sinks and games like Minecraft just don't mix. While the desired outcome is one big factory chain where each component is active 99% of the time. When ever I'm playing modded minecraft, I end up with lots of small separated idle factories that are idle 99% of the time. So what do you think? Do you know of any mod/packs where you build long production chains like in factorio? Or it's just impossible? While in a heavy modpack in minecraft we got like what? a thousand basic elements?! It's then obvious why factories in minecraft are so short lived, we need to go use these new element, and they need that new machine to process them. ![]() I think it's mainly due to the fact that there is only 5 basic elements (6 now?), and everything can be broken down to this basics, so you have no choice but to maintain these basic factories forever. If you look at factorio, you will never get to a point where you can stop making green circuits, or smelting iron. Now while the hard modes in PO2 and IE Skyblock tried to make you use your older machines more, they mostly just moved the "production feature" gates further apart so you'll need to grind more and it will make you feel like your older machines are actually being utilized, but it's not quite there. To summarize, instead of making the production chain longer and more complex, you unlock new "production features" that are just idling 99% of the time. Same with any other machine that is not a miner/farm/energy production related. Or the IC2 extractor, I made it, and after a few minutes I have too much rubber and it's gonna idle for a long time. Instead of expanding your factory with new components and utilizing the previous ones, you just unlock new components, but they are mostly just sitting there, idling away, waiting until you will need them again.įor example it takes me an hour to set up my first coke oven, but after less then an hour I have enough creosote oil to last me a lifetime, so I just remove the coke oven. Most of the machines you build are idling 99% of the time. I played pretty much all the mods/modpacks in minecraft (not literally), finished PO2 Kappa and IE Skyblock expert, and probably have close to 10k hours in minecraft in general, and here is what I can't find in any mod/pack in minecraft but can in factorio: If you would like more information on FTB then check out our Wiki to see all the current modpacks, and discussions from the community, as well as helpful links!Ĭlick here to get to the Wiki!
